WATER WELLS & SYSTEMS

HEALTH CODES & GOVERNMENT FEES

McKay & Gould is registered and licensed by the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania to drill and service wells, and work on water supply and conditioning systems.  As a result, we are bound to operate according to their well and water system health codes.  This generally means that in order to perform repairs on your well or system, we must bring it up to the current code.  We must report our work to the appropriate government authority, and pay their fees, which are passed on to our customer.

State health department codes may be found by exploring the following links:

Local government fees change often.  Please Contact Us for the latest information on fees in your area.

Well abandonment can also be part of new construction of a water well if an old well exists.  In the State of Ohio, all existing wells must be properly abandoned within 30 days unless the well owner demonstrates to the satisfaction of the State that the well will not pose any health or safety risks. (Ohio Admin. Code 3745-9-10).  As a registered drilling contractor, we can supply the proper materials and labor to insure that the job is done in compliance with the State.  If applicable, this estimated cost can be included in a new well price.
